DESCRIPTION

The third edition of this scarce work.

A concise topographical guide to the town of Hastings, a seaside town in East Sussex. 

This work offers a brief history of the ancient town, with an account of its environs, churches, ruins, antiquities, castles, and more, as well as a "minute detail of the famous Battle of Hastings".

Illustrated with a frontispiece, one folding map, and three  plates.

Half-title is present.

Collated, complete.

CONDITION

In the original paper covered boards. Externally, worn, amateur repair to the spine and joints. Ink to the spine and to the boards. Discolouration and marks to the boards and spine, and light rubbing. Loss to the spine and extremities. Hinges are starting but firm. Pencil to the endpapers. Bookplate to the front paste down. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are age-toned with scattered spots.
