What are ASTM Level 1 Standards?

Masks that meet or exceed ASTM Level 1 Standards provide basic protection and are commonly used in healthcare settings for procedures involving low levels of aerosols, sprays, and fluids, and consist of the following criteria:

1. Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE): The mask should have a BFE of ≥ 95%. This means it must be able to filter out at least 95% of bacteria present in the air.
