MCM AMERICAN SOUTHWEST LANDSCAPE OIL ON FIBERBOARD YUCCA PLANTS BLOOMING SMALL
- This MCM oil painting of a desert landscape in the American Southwest features yucca plants in full bloom. The plants are also known as "The Lord's Candles.” Gentle vintage wear includes some very small flecks of paint gone showing lead white underglaze on painting. However, the painting’s style makes this flaw less noticeable. Brown paper on back is tanned and has been taped on by previous owner, an art collector from north Wisconsin. Ready to hang or can sit on stand as shown.
- Canvas is fiberboard; style is Impressionistic Realism, suggested by brushstrokes and focus on light and color. Painting isn’t signed but is done in the style of Charles Wesolowski, who was known for similar desert scenes. The simple black painted wood frame with gold edge trim and inward angle accentuates the small painting itself—4.25 inches tall and 3.25 inches wide. Framed size is 6.5 inches by 5.5 inches wide. See photos. Gold stand NOT included.
