2017 marked the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation. To honor this historic occasion, the Royal Canadian Mint's 2017 Specimen Set pays tribute to a Canadian icon with a one dollar coin featuring the beloved snow goose in a dramatic pose, preparing to land on a quiet northern lake.

The Snow Goose dollar coin was available only as part of this Specimen Set. The classic Canadian coin designs ($2 polar bear, 50 cent Coat of Arms, 25 cent caribou, 10-cent Bluenose, 5 cent beaver) were not placed into circulation in 2017, making this set one of the few ways to obtain these coins.

The finish on Specimen coins combines brilliant and frosted relief over a lined background, a unique minting process used only by the RCM. This set was limited to a minting of 30,000.

Royal Canadian Mint packaging is in excellent condition. Includes book-style case with coins held in a plastic display holder, COA, and an outer box (which is a little dinged up).
