Mid-Century Modern intaglio relief plaster artwork featuring two fish in the center, one painted gold, the other one white, with smaller red and blue fish surrounding them This type of artwork reflects the aesthetic of the mid-20th century, characterized by its emphasis on textured surfaces and stylized forms. It is intaglio, meaning the fish are recessed into the surface, rather than protruding from the surface. The black area has small horizontal lines carved into it for texture representing water; the white area has a rougher texture. There is a small chip on the bottom edge and can be seen in the photos; there is also another chip near the top corner on the right side, which is harder to see.  There are circular wires recessed into the plaster on the back for hanging. This piece measures 18.5 x 7.5 x .75" and other than the two chips, is in excellent condition. It is not signed and I have not been able to find any other art similar to this, but it is very striking and definitely an amazing mid century find.
