Garcia Mitchell 300 Spinning Reel, manufactured in France in 1965, serial number 4946314 stamped on the foot, and printed on a white label stuck to the side of the box.

Cut angle anti reverse lever
Pre anti-inertia brake baffle plate (anti-inertia brake reintroduced in 1966)
Angle cut box
Left hand wind
Spring release handle
This reel has been lightly used, with slight rubbing to the paintwork on the edges of the housing, the rotor and the foot where the reel attaches to the rod (see pictures). The reel is fully functioning with a smooth retrieve and working anti-reverse. The chrome is shiny, and the bail spring is strong and flips over with a solid click.
The box is original, and the matching label is stuck to one of the angle sides (see pictures). This was only done in the very early stages after the introduction of this box design, and the label was moved to the bottom of the box before serial number 4990000. A piece of the styrofoam tray is missing (see pictures), and the box is solid with slight shelf wear. The box includes the often missing Garcia Mitchell 300 card insert.
The spools have their Garcia Platyl labels on the bottom and the extra spool is in a solid container with no cracks.
The paperwork is in very good condition and complete, with the first printing of the Garcia smaller sized manual (the second printing was in 1966) and the guarantee card showing the 1965 Garcia Annual.
This is a very good condition, fully functioning, 60 year old reel, complete in the box with a seldom seen and hard to find label configuration, to fish with or add to a collection.
