- This machine allows you to skive to a uniform thickness.Make "lap" skives (tapering skives),as when you join two straps together. - Skive a strap down to a feather edge or make a long tapering skives.

- Assembly: The only assembly required for your deluxe leather splitter is to attach the handle grip onto the top of the handle post.

- Important: secure splitting machine to bench with bolts or screws (not included) before operation.

Operation:

- Step 1: pull handle back to lower roller,insert leather between the blade and roller/

- Step 2: if you wish to skive off the thickness of a strap end,push the strap through up to edge of the blade where you wish the skive to begin,and then push the handle forward until the roller makes snug contact with the strap.

- Step 3: now, begin to move the handle forward,simultaneously pulling on the strap to begin the skive,the tension bar hold the leather down to insure uniform skives.

- Step 4: after you have reached the desired depth of the skive,lock the roller by turning the locking knob do the reminder of the skive will be uniform,pull the strap through to complete the skive.Pull back the handle to be ready for the next skive.
