Elton’s follow-up to his big hit album Too Low For Zero, this album featured the classic Elton John Band who had performed with Elton from 1972 until 1975, recording 6 of his most legendary albums. Breaking Hearts was also the very last album recorded by that foursome. It featured 4 Top 40 singles, Who Wears These Shoes, Passengers (a big hit in Europe but a little too weird for American tastes), In Neon (which easily could’ve come from the Yellow Brick Road album), and his huge hit Sad Songs Say So Much.

Breaking Hearts is my 2nd favorite album (after Sleeping With the Past) from Elton’s ‘80s catalog.

I bought this brand new on eBay and was very disappointed when I received it. There is a big slit on the back cover that went right through the cellophane wrap and cut into (but not all the way through) the cardboard. I immediately ordered a replacement. This record has been played exactly once, and aside from the cut on the back cover is in Like New condition.
