DESCRIPTION

The first edition. Complete presently in two volumes (one of the dormant counties not currently being worked on). 

In the publisher's original cloth binding. 

Volume I illustrated with a frontispiece, nine monochrome plates, one coloured plates and six coloured maps, five of which are folding. Volume II illustrated with a coloured frontispiece, seventeen monochrome plates, two coloured plates and two folding maps. Collated, complete. 

Offering an encyclopaedic history of the county of Norfolk, including its natural history, archeological remains, religious houses, political history and medieval art. 

Volume I is edited by H. Arthur Doubleday and Volume II is edited by William Page.


CONDITION

In the original cloth bindings. Externally, very smart, with fading to the spines and marks to the boards and spine. Light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Bookplates of one C. S. Coleman to the front pastedowns. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with offsetting to the endpapers and occasional scattered spotting throughout.
