Brooch: Kreuzer Emden


The light cruiser Emden was a German warship of the Reichsmarine of the Weimar Republic and later the Kriegsmarine. After the two small cruisers Emden (commissioned in 1909) and Emden (commissioned in 1916), she was the third German warship to be named after the city of Emden.


Even before its completion, the Emden was not intended for military operations and was used as a training ship. Several trips were carried out as part of the training.
