The first edition.

Bound in paper covered boards, with renewed endpapers.

Comprised of 'The Management Of War. In a Letter To A Tory-Member' and 'The Management Of War. In a Second Letter To A Tory-Member', bound together.

These two letters were published one week apart, with a note to the rear of the first letter stating "N. B. The Second Letter will be published next Saturday.".

Written anonymously, by English churchman and classical scholar, Francis Hare.

A series of letters published surrounding the War of the Spanish Succession, in which Francis Hare defended this military endeavour, providing support for the war and for the Duke of Marlborough, with particular reference to the Flanders campaign.

Commencing in 1702, the War of Spanish Succession was starting to lose traction in Britain by 1711, leading to the publication of a number of pamphlets by Hare in support of the war.

Bound with the half title.

With a number of ink annotations, including one reading 'member of parliament in soho square, London, 1710'.
