Three volumes of tales about Mr. Verdant Green, a fictional Oxford University student created by clergyman and novelist Edward Bradley, under the pen name Cuthbert Bede.

With the publisher's original illustrated front and rear wraps bound in.

The scarce 1853 first editions of 'The Adventures of Mr. Verdant Green'. With six pages of advertisements to the rear.

An 1857 edition of 'The Further Adventures of Mr. Verdant Green', which was first published in 1854. With twelve pages of advertisements to the rear.

The 1857 thirty-fifth thousandth of 'Mr. Verdant Green, Married and Done For', published in the same year as the first edition. With ten pages of advertisements to the start of the work.

Illustrated throughout with charming vignettes from the author himself.


CONDITION

Rebound in cloth, with the publisher's original front and rear wraps bound in. Externally, excellent. Rear hinge of volume III strained but firmly held. Front free endpaper of volumes I and III tenderly held. Internally, firmly bound. Publisher's original wraps significantly age toned and with handling marks. Instances of small marginal losses to wraps. Pages age toned due to paper type, with handling marks and the odd spot throughout.

Overall Condition: Very Good
