DESCRIPTION
This first edition of Handrail and the Wampus is signed by the author Charles Dufff.
On the title page, the author has crossed out his name in typescript and written it in ink below.
In the First World War, Duff served as an officer in the British Merchant Navy before working in the intelligence division of the foreign office. The Irishman later turned to linguistics , and his interest in language is immediately evident in this uncommon, pacy volume filled with unusual and often onomatopoeiac language.
CONDITION
In the publisher's original blue paperback binding. Externally, generally smart. Lightly bumped to the extremities, more so to the rear cover. There is a tiny bit of wrap missing to the head and tail of the spine. With some light edgewear to the fore edge. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the odd handling mark.
