Up for your consideration is:

Kohr's meat packing company from Davenport Iowa. Kohr's emerged as one of the better meat processing / packing companies in Davenport, Iowa in the mid to late 1800's. These jars held pickled pigs feet most likely as lard was packaged in tins. This embossed Mason wire side quart jar is a rare and historical jar. The bottle is embossed and produced by the Ball Bros. glass co for Kohr's at the turn of the last century. Ball produced customized mason jars for many companies back then and Kohr's was one.  This jar was patented in 1908 and I am not sure of the year of manufacture.  Kohr's was sold and the name changed to Oscar Meyer in the 1900's. Kohr's items have a loyal following and items like this are still sought after.

CONDITION:

The glass on the jar is very clean. There are numerous bubbles large and small in the glass. The embossing on the patent date is faint. The jar has a very slight rainbow iridescent sheen that can be seen when tilted to the light. There is a significant chip underneath the lip, 90 degrees off of the center of the embossing. It sits below "Wire Side".  When the jar is displayed embossing forward, the chip is not visible.  I have included a pic of the chip. I'm discounting the price of this jar because of the chip. It displays wonderfully and is more rare than most Ball jars produced in the 1900's.
