VERY RARE SMALL (4 Bottle Size) ANTIQUE 1926 AUTOMOBILE GLASS OIL BOTTLE HOLDER/CARRIER, COMPLETE WITH ALL 4 OIL BOTTLES !!!

DESCRIPTION: Scans show it all.....Nice antique steel automotive glass oil bottle HOLDER/CARRIER.  RARE SMALL SIZE CARRIER FOR 4 BOTTLES.   The specialized bottles are similar to a quart milk bottle and were used in early automobiles to hold and dispense oil during oil changes and addition. They have a long metal spout that screwed onto the glass base for pouring. The containers were made of glass and reusable. Typically, oil was purchased in large cans or drums, then transferred as needed to the bottles and kept ready for use in individual cars. They were kept ready and safe in the carrier like I am offering here. 

Especially nice as the 4 bottles that came with it are still there!!!  One of them is a scarce & unusual DOVER bottle, made in Cambridge, Mass.

The holder is made of welded steel and this one is in excellent condition.  Bottles are also in very good - excellent condition.  Could be cleaned if desired or you can keep the traces of original oil that still remains!!   The holder has a wooden handle.  On the ends are steel panels with manufacturing information: "JB TIMBERLAKE & SONS, JACKSON, MICH., PATENT PENDING".  

This outfit would make a great gift or a nice display item for the discerning collector, and obviously a cool accessory to go with your antique car.  ESPECIALLY SINCE IT HAS THE 4 ORIGINAL ANTIQUE BOTTLES IN IT!!! 

The holder and bottles were made c.1910 - 1925, probably earlier than some you see with the 1926 patent date.

Carrier stands about 11" tall overall and base is 9" x 9".  It stands about 14" high with the bottles in it.  The individual square "holders" where the bottles fit each measure about 4 1/4" square and are 4 1/2" high.  This is an extremely difficult-to-find antique auto or service station accessory, ESPECIALLY IN THE SMALLER 4-BOTTLE SIZE, and you will not see them for sale often.  This one is in nice condition and will make a nice antique auto collectable.
