The second impression of the first UK edition of this work, published the year after the UK first impression.

In the publisher's original unclipped dust wrapper.

First published in Paris in 1955, Donleavy's novel is set in Dublin in 1947.

Upon publication, the novel was quickly banned both in Ireland and the United States of America by reason of obscenity.

The novel follows the adventures of Sebastian Dangerfield, an American student at Trinity College, Dublin.

With a Foyles label to the front pastedown.


CONDITION

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with minor handling marks to front board. Spotting to text block fore edge. Bookseller's label to front pastedown. Spotting to dust wrapper back strip and perimeters of rear wrap. Foxing to dust wrapper reverse. Light chipping to back strip head. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
