PENCIL: contains unused lead, and eraser is also unused. Must remove the cap (the top half part that has the clip) in order to rotate the silver part to extend more lead (and obviously to access the eraser).
PEN: it is a click pen. Click the top part (the part with the clip that must be pulled off to use the pencil) to extend the ballpoint. However, the current ink refill does not write! This item is old, you will need to purchase an eversharp red top pen refill. A quick search and I found them available for like $10. This item's price reflects that.
