DESCRIPTION
An uncommon pop-up nativity scene, an impressive and colourful scene showing Jesus, Mary, Joseph, the Three Kings, a shepherd, and other figures. The nativity scene has the star of Bethlehem flying over the night sky, in a typically Czech scene.
Including both of the original free standing figures, showing sheep, and a villager carrying Vanocka, a Czech plaited bread traditionally made at Christmas.
By Czech artist Vojtěch Kubašta, who is well known for his works of various pop-up books. He also illustrated pop-up books of 'Little Red Riding Hood', 'Snow White', and 'Cinderella'.
Kubasta issued a new nativity paper construction creche annually.
Stamp of Michael and Megan Dawson to the reverse, a husband and wife who established a successful business dealing in and restoring pop-up books.
CONDITION
In the original paper standing pop-up display. Pop-up is complete and very smart. Stamp to the reverse.
