DESCRIPTION

First UK edition.

Scarce work.

Illustrated with eighteen colour plates, fourteen of which are double-page spreads. Collated complete.

A collection of children's stories and animal fables from across Kenya.

The stories published here were gathered by children in response to a suggestion from the staff of the Wildlife Clubs of Kenya. Roughly three hundred stories were sent in and sorted, before being sent out again as part of a National Art Competition.

The best of these stories and artwork are contained in these pages, all produced by children across the country.

With an introduction from Richard Erskine Frere Leakey, a Kenyan paleoanthropologist, conservationist and politician.
