Traditional Timorese hut door, carved from hardwood, featuring a raised male human figure with horns, depicted in a simplistic and stylized form. The piece has a dark patina, reflecting its age and exposure to the elements. Notably, the door is equipped with tenons at both the top and bottom, which would have been used to securely fit the door into its frame without the need for hinges. Originating from the Belu area of West Timor, this door is a fine example of indigenous craftsmanship, often associated with ancestral protection in traditional architecture.
