DESCRIPTION

Facsimile edition of Thomas Johnson's 'Iter' (1629) and 'Descriptio Itineris' (1632) studies of botany in Kent and Hampstead. With introduction and translation. 

Edited by British botanist J S L Gilmour. Presentation copy inscribed to Nicholas Wall and signed by the author to front free endpaper, dated 1972. 

Thomas Johnson was an English botanist, often known as the "father" of British field botany. 

Complete with unclipped dust wrapper. Featuring plates of illustrations. 

From the library of Nicholas Wall, with his bookplate to front pastedown. Wall was an English judge, President of the Family Division and Head of Family Justice for England and Wales.


CONDITION

In the original publisher's leatherette binding. Externally lovely. Lightly bumped to head and tail of spine. Dust wrapper excellent with only minor puncture mark to rear wrap, light tape marking internally to wraps, not affecting externals. Spine to dust wrapper sunned. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.

Overall Condition: Near Fine  Very Good Indeed
