A little background on the sub-label or store label: Although mainly known for her skin care line, Elizabeth Arden did open her own boutique shop, featuring clothing, in 1910 (her NYC fifth Avenue salon was famous for its lipstick red color front door). In the 1940's Charles James was briefly employed there, but her in-house designer from 1945-1950 was Antonio Castillo, followed by Ferdinando Sarmi. In 1963 Oscar de la Renta became chief in-house designer, and the Elizabeth Arden Boutiques remained open until the 80's.

A little background on designer Mollie Parnis: Paris began designing under her own name in the 1940's, and by the 50's (her most prolific era of designing), she was designing for Mamie Eisenhower. She would continue dressing First Ladies through to the 1970's. During the 50's and 60's Paris designs were very lively, and included many wonderful floral prints.

These harem-style pants are made from a lightweight, semi-opaque cotton weave fabric featuring a colorful, large-scale jungle print in vivid hues, on black ground. They have an elasticized waistline with full gathers forming into wide legs, also gathered at the elasticized ankle cuffs. The original elastic has been replaced (waist has a single elastic row, instead of the original double elastic row). These pants are unlined, and without pockets. The overall condition is excellent, with very subtle color transfer within the jungle print and no other flaws or issues to note!
