Wilbraham explores and compiles a glossary of Chester terms used during the early 19th century. Detailed descriptions are given for what the term is and its usage. Wilbraham prefaces this work with an introduction explaining dialect and pronunciation. Clear instructions are given for how consonants and vowels should be pronounced and how Cheshire pronunciation differs from other regional dialects.

Bound in paper backed boards. Externally sound with slight rubbing. Rubbing to the boards resulting in loss to the paper. Internally the binding tender. Pages bright and clean with the odd spot.
