A large beautifully and intricately detailed statue of Lord Ganesh, the elephant Hindu deity God, in his dancing posture. Quite a heavy & substantial piece, weighing over 10kg, suitable for a temple set-up, home worship, prayer or simply as an adorable artefact, in the home, office, studio, shop, gallery or showroom.
Solid brass metal sculpture ( or possibly bronze/brass mix, difficult to tell ) probably post 1940, but interested parties should carry out their own research for more precise details and authenticity.

Ganesh is often depicted with a mouse or rat ( or two), which signifies a multitude of things: since the rat is a destructive pest and a menace, capable of destroying crops, its depiction near Ganesh's feet signify Ganesh's ability to overcome all obstacles, and like a rat, able to penetrate even the most secret & difficult places.
