This is an AA Logic (Allied Analogic) Snoopy Cable Fault locator system. This unit is used in various industries to find shorts and other faults in cables above and below the ground, most notably used on copper pairs for telecom, telephone and DSL purposes.
Brief description from the manufacturer: The Snoopy System is an alternative solution to burning pairs for high resistance aerial fault location such as shorts, crosses, and grounds. The Snoopy Transmitter can be safely used on copper pairs without fear of cable damage.
All components are in excellent condition, it does not look like this system was used much at all. Most of the cables/leads are still factory tied in a plastic bag. The transmitter/receiver unit look to be in mint condition with no signs of scratches, marks or wear. I connected both units to their chargers (the chargers are marked SR and ST respectively for the units they are meant for) and the units charged up and powered on with no issues. Using the buttons on the units I was able to navigate through the menus and view/change settings with ease. A screenshot was taken of one of the screens that shows the available frequencies on the transmitter.
Please note that since I don't know the age of the units all internal batteries are sold as-is with no guarantees on life or longevity. The batteries appear to be LiPo batteries that could be replaced if they needed to without any major modification. During my testing the batteries took a charge and were able to power the units on without the need for any external power, the LED's on the units went from "RED" while charing to "off" when completed as mentioned in the user manual, total charge time was approximately 4-5 hours.
