Offered is an oval serving platter that is part of the dishwasher-proof oven-to-table "Ruska" dinnerware pattern designed by Ulla Procopé for Arabia in 1960 (and first released in 1968). Done in deep earthy tones of a mottled and speckled brown semi-matte glaze, "ruska" is the Finnish term for the autumnal colors when the foliage changes before blanketing the ground, and these serving pieces have a smoothe surface and are all slightly different in appearance resembling handcrafted studio pottery even though they were industrially manufactured.

Ulla Procopé (1921 - 1968) was one of Finland's leading ceramic designers of the 20th century who left an indelible impact on Scandinavian design. She joined Arabia, the Finnish producer of fine ceramic tableware in 1948 and designed several innovative and popular lines of ceramic products.

The platter measures in length 14.5" L, 9.75" W and 1.5" in height.
