We are both the oldest surviving members of our families. As life-long collectors, and inheritors from those who have Gone Before, we must move on some of our Stuff before that (hopefully far-off) day when it becomes our children’s responsibility. Happy to combine for cheaper postage but PLEASE WAIT for combined invoice from me or ask me for one; postage discounts can only be given on combined purchases paid for on a single invoice.

This special collection of ephemera came from the family of Mrs Arthur Weston.
Arthur Weston married Caroline Ann Nash Newtown 1888. They had children Arthur (1888), Carie (or Carrie) (1889), Frank (1891) and Herbert (1894). The family lived at Enmore (1892), Petersham (1902) and “Kenilworth” Wyatt Avenue Burwood (1914). Carrie who married Harold Moore in 1915 styled herself Mayo Weston – there was said to be a “Lord” of that name in the family tree. Arthur was an accountant with the firm of Moore & Weston in Sydney. Mrs Arthur Weston was obviously involved in Sydney’s social life; these items are invitations to her to attend / support functions and causes which occupied Sydney Society in the early 1900s. They date approx 1902 to 1927. Mrs Weston saw NSW Governors come and go – Strickland, Davidson, de Chair; and several Sydney Mayors. They are interesting social history and may appeal to someone. PLEASE note – these items have not been stored well, and many/most are age stained, creased and very fragile. Please use photos to judge their condition. I have separated them into several lots – happy to combine; all could travel for the same postage costs.

    My Items

The items I sell are vintage; they are second hand, old, sometimes very old. I try to describe and photograph my items honestly and to the best of my ability; however if pristine condition is very important to you, I feel you should be buying from a regular shop, where you can inspect the items personally. Please note that all my items are sold "as is", with no warranty implied, and that the photos form part of the description, which should be read carefully. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM PLEASE CONTACT ME FIRST.

Shipping and Payment Terms; Combining Items

If you win more than one item in a listing please wait for a combined invoice from me to save you on postage and insurance costs. I always wait until the last item in an auction listing finishes before sending invoices in case buyers win more than one item. If you win an item and are planning to bid on an item in a later-finishing auction, please email me to let me know, and I will wait until that auction has finished to send you a combined invoice.

International buyers please note: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or postage charges. Please check with your country's Customs Office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding. In most cases these charges will be collected by eBay, in which case they will appear on your invoice. If not, these charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (postage) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional postage charges.

    Problem with a Transaction?

PLEASE contact me first. I am a reasonable human being; if there is a problem I am sure we can work something out that will satisfy us both. Involving eBay should be a last resort – something I hope will not be necessary. Contact Seller is under More Actions on your Purchase History page, or simply Reply to the email I sent when I posted your item.
