This is an antique, double page engraving from FRANK LESLIE'S ILLUSTRATED NEWSPAPER, published in New York in 1885. The paper is a very high quality rag paper, much more durable than the newsprint we use today.

Text: GENERAL GRANT'S STRUGGLE WITH DEATH  --  AN EARLY MORNING SCENE AT HIS BEDSIDE (See pictures for smaller text) STORY ON REVERSE.

Artist: NOT IDENTIFIED

Condition: EXCELLENT -- Clear, clean, and bright; no tears, creasing or folds (other than the centerfold), and very good margins, perfect for framing. A really beautiful image. Nice dark lines and definition. (Note: NO HOLES AT THE CENTERFOLD.) (NOTE: MARGIN TEAR LOWER LEFT CORNER.)

This print is about 140 years old and guaranteed to be original. It's an authentic, very finely drawn engraving from the aforementioned publication, and not a modern reproduction.

The print is about 16" x 22" with good margins,
ready to be framed and preserved.
