What a charming and delicate early pocket fob watch. Just about the size of the American half dollar coin shown beside it. Would have likely been used by a doctor, nurse or military medic back in the 1930s/40s to take a patient's pulse using the very visible red sweep seconds hand. An expensive watch at the time, especially in the Solid Sterling Silver case.

High quality Croton Swiss 17 jewels movement is running and keeping time, but it has not been serviced. Sterling Silver case is fully hallmarked on the inside of both of the back covers for .925 silver content. Dial signed Croton EL is original and with just enough light aging to show that it's vintage, with brown luminescent-filled hands. This watch comes with a 9-inch snake metal mesh chain with a big button hole loop at the end.

Outer diameter measures 31.2mm. Case is 11.6mm thick. Acrylic crystal is perfect, free of scratches. Back is clean with no personal engraving. Hinges both work well. Case numbers match.

A very unusual pocket fob watch to add to your collection or this would make an especially unique gift for a new nurse or doctor.

Look carefully at the many pictures, as they are a large part of the description here. Keep in mind that the pictures are all magnified 2.5X to 5X, so small details are exaggerated in the macro photos that are not relevant in normal viewing.
