LARGE MID-CENTURY MODERN
BJØRN WIINBLAD (1918-2006)
NYMØLLE DENMARK COLLECTIBLE!
Danish Contemporary artist, Bjørn Wiinblad, created this modern,
round deep-sided dish or bowl.
It pictures a contemporary drawing of a whimsical Lady holding
two large black flowers, one in each arm.
On the corner of her full skirt, is the signature "Bjørn Wiinblad."
Wiinblad was well-known for drawing these whimsical, round-faced people.
On the back side of the dish, it is stamped "Nymølle Denmark 3030-1323,"
along with the artist's signature.
Note that this collectible is signed in two places, front and back.
Nymølle is the name of the well-known Danish Ceramic Factory
that produced this fine ceramic piece,
known in Danish as fajance.
This retro, deep-sided plate measures approximately 10.5 inches in diameter
and has sides that are about 2-1/8 inches tall.
Bowl is heavy and weighs 2 Pounds 13 Ounces, UNPACKED!
Please note the slight crazing lines that can be seen mostly on the
back side in LOW-LIGHT conditions.
Not really noticeable in regular lighting.
The pictures show the back side in both bright and low light.
When on display, facing up, this should not be an issue.
There are no chips, cracks, flea bites, or fading.
I think this fine collectible is in very good Mid-Century condition!
