- Some HUSQVARNA chainsaws may have a .043 gauge bar and chain installed from the factory. Upgrading to this thicker .050 gauge bar will allow for a heavier duty, professional saw chain to be installed. If this bar will be replacing a .043 gauge bar, be sure to keep the old bar and/or chains separated. IMPORTANT: NEVER TRY TO OPERATE A .043 GAUGE SAW CHAIN ON A .050 GAUGE CHAINSAW GUIDE BAR!! Doing so could cause catastrophic damage to the bar and chain. The 3/8" pitch sprocket on your chainsaw will not need to be changed and will accept both .043 and .050 gauge chains.
- NOTE: This bar and chain combo will NOT interchange with HUSQVARNA's new .325 mini pitch sprocket. HUSQVARNA offers 1/4", and 3/8" mini pitch replacement sprockets as spare parts for most of their chainsaws that have the new style .325 pitch sprocket. If you decide to convert your saw to 3/8" mini, this bar and chain will then be compatible and your saw will be able to run a professional grade chain!
