Four unused small ticket type notices which advertise the Alabama Minstrels. They were to perform in the very small N.E. Mo. towns of Philadelphia and Emden (located in area west of Hannibal, Mo.). The shows were presented by Harrow & Lewis.
Each item is about 2 7/8 x 3 3/8" in size and made of cardboard.
Background of items: Probably 25 or more years ago we attended a typical rural auction near Palmyra, Mo which had some Truman for Senator hand-out cards which were issued for use during the 1934 election. They were mixed in with these minstrel cards along with some other local candidate cards. I was able to purchase the entire cigar box along with the contents. These minstrel tickets of course, are original.
