Offered for sale is a bold CLEAR FROST open bowl from Viking Glass. It's in the EPIC STOCKHOLM pattern, aka SPIKED LOTUS. Five pointed petals form the sides of the bowl. The bowl has an irresistible satin texture inside and out. It is part of Viking's EPIC line of glassware. The Stockholm pattern was designed by Wayne Husted, who also designed and made glass at Blenko. This bowl was made by hand in the U.S.A., and still has its original sticker (picture 6).

Viking made beautiful art glass beginning in 1944, continuing until 1999. The EPIC line, with its sleek shapes and bold colors was one of the most popular, and is highly treasured by art glass collectors today. EPIC glass was produced from 1956 to 1975, expanding from 14 different pieces at the beginning, to 50 or more by the early 1960s. The bold colors, swags, pulls and drapes the artisans used to produce the line were often imitated by other glass makers, but will forever be associated with the Epic Line.

This bowl measures 6 1/2 inches (16.5cm) in diameter, and stands 3 3/4 inches (9.5cm) tall to the tallest of the spiked petals. This is a fine example of Viking hand made glass, and a beautiful piece to add to your collection. A U.S. quarter is shown in the fourth picture, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance.

It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. A few very faint scratches are visible in the glass.  The original VIKING sticker is included (picture 6).
