The B-25B Mitchell U.S. Army was a medium bomber aircraft used by the United States during World War II. One of the most famous missions of the B-25B was the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo in 1942, which was a critical turning point in the war. The B-25B was also used in the North African and Mediterranean campaigns, as well as the Pacific theater.
The "Hari Kari-er" was a B-25B Mitchell that was flown by Captain Charles Ross Greening during the Doolittle Raid. The plane was ran out of fuel leaving the raid and had to crash land in China. The crew was forced to abandon the plane and were eventually rescued by Chinese guerilla forces.
