The item comes from a smoke free home ~ however ~ not a pet free home. Pets are not allowed in the craft room ~ but ~ I cannot guarantee that you won't find a stray hair or two. If you're extremely allergic to either cats or dogs, this is probably not a good option. IN ADDITION, I don't know the conditions to which it was exposed prior to my ownership.
