The title is: "The Poetical Works of Rogers, Campbell, J. Montgomery, Lamb and Kirke White" Complete in One Volume.
-
It is most certainly a First American Edition if not a First Edition outright.
-
Of the 5 Poets, Samuel Rogers, Thomas Campbell, James Montgomery, Charles Lamb and Henry Kirke White, all but Kirke White was alive at the time of the preparation of the volume. All were British, save Montgomery, born in North Britain....Scotland.
-
There is a biography at the front of each section. Each section is individually numbered at the top of the page and there is also numbering at the bottom of the page...496 in all.
-
The book measures 5 and a half by 9 inches and the print is not large.
-
For it's age, this much worn volume is in astonishingly good condition. The binding is quite tight although there is the beginnings of separation of the front board. The outer boards are worn and scuffed. The marbling on the page edgings are so faded as to resemble stains. The inner board marbling is in a better state. There is a large water stain on the first blank pages. There are penciled in owners names. There are water stains also on the last few pages.

If you are looking for perfection, pass this time. If you are looking for a most interesting piece of history that is still eminently readable, consider this one.
