LS Fabrication's "Gate Saver" or Tailgate Assist Shock/Strut – 1988-1998 Chevy Truck adds eye catching customization to your OBS Chevy truck. The "Gate Saver" is an easy install and addition to the tailgate of your 88-98 Chevy truck.

  • Fits 1988 - 1988 Old Body Style GM Trucks
  • "Gate Saver" is an easy install and addition
  • Slows the tailgate opening action allowing your tailgate to open freely without slamming after unlatching
  • Comes complete with: dampener, balls studs (2x), and jam nut for an easy install.

The Tailgate Saver will work with both tailgate straps and cables but in the case of tailgate straps require the removal of the driver side tailgate strap is required to install. Please use your discretion on the weight capabilities with a single tailgate strap.
