For sale is a 1973 original sculpture by Bruno Facchini, who is reported on one art-related website to be an Armenian Russian sculptor. The subject matter is a stem of flowers unlike any you have ever seen. They have a distinctive dark flair to them. They lean as if seeking, but not the sun. One might imagine their heads turning toward a moving person with the unnaturally long stamens extending, extending, reaching...then retracting when the person glances back. Most of the artist's pieces, mostly abstracts in stone, have sold in recent years for $1000 - 6000 on other sites. I am not sure what the metal is in this gothic floral piece. There are scratches on the leaves that are the same color as the surface metal and an iridescence on some of the backs of petals. The leaves have dark brown to almost black patches of patina and all edges have a brazed beaded ruffle. The base is stone, possibly alabaster, and is signed. The bottom has green felt glued on plus thin round bumper circles. The piece is top-heavy and will tend to topple if on uneven surfaces. It does fine on smooth, level surfaces. One leaf appears to be broken off and a 1/2" stem nub is left with the 2-leaf grouping. It measures 19" in height. This is an interesting, mysterious piece by an interesting, mysterious artist!
