Hi Friends, Offered for sale is an Ancient Worked Quartz Chalcedony Stone Notched Tip Blade Kansas River 54.9 Grams. This worked quartz stone finger blade with notched tip is in the condition it was found at the Kansas River sand dunes. This has a bladed side with notch on the tip and 2 finger hold sides. This appears to have been worked long ago on all sides of the quartz chalcedony stone and has been worn by the river for a long time, and the blade is not sharp as it once was when first fractured. This quartz is either yellow chalcedony or has been yellowed by river minerals for a long long after it was fractured. Stones with notched blades were probably used to whittle wood as wood was probably the main tool used by ancient humans. This could possibly be a very ancient human tool. The Kansas River recedes sometimes for periods of time or only for a couple of days, new landscapes appear in the river channel from sand, mud, and stone. At the East Kansas River where this stone was found there is alluvial and glacial till sand and stone a half mile deep according to surveys. It is said that the last glacier receded from the Kansas River about 600,000 years ago. This stone is good for collection, display, study, or other purpose. The stone pictured is the one you will receive. *This stone weighs 54.9 grams and measures about 70mm by 42mm by 24mm. **USA FREE SHIPPING
