DESCRIPTION

The very scarce first edition of this work.

Illustrated with eleven chromolithograph colour plates, and monochrome illustrations throughout.

Collated, complete.

A charming children's story, featuring anthropomorphic cats.

The poetical work is a charming and greatly entertaining tale.

Illustrated by Louis Wain, who is best known for his anthropomorphised cat drawings that featured cats and kittens with large eyes. Later in his life he was institutionalised for alleged schizophrenia, which some psychiatrists have said can been seen in his works.

This story showcases Wain's famous cat illustrations.
