This one of a kind game action photo depicts some "rough stuff" during a December 1956 game at Wrigley Field between crosstown rivals Chicago Bears and Chicago Cardinals.
The photo captures a fracas between Bears wide receiver Harlon Hill and Cardinals defensive back Pat Summerall. Besides these two legendary football notables, other players join in, including Chicago Cardinals lineman Leo Sanford, who autographed the photo for me at a 1997 Chicago Cardinals reunion. Sanford is in the photo tussling with a Bears player just above the official. Also autographing the photo was Cardinals wide receiver Frank Bernardi, who is not pictured in the photo.
