PLEASE NOTE: Any repair of vintage toys requires: patience, the ability to improvise, quality glue, and quality repair parts. Since I've started, I've sold over 1,200 (and counting) repair kits for vintage Star Wars ships. I can only provide the quality parts. You must provide the rest.
This listing is for a pair of reinforcement/repair kits for fixing vintage Star Wars X-Wing Fighters that have broken wings. This is for a pair of 3D printed repair parts only - no actual X-Wing parts.
I have 3 options:
2 thin reinforcers - these reinforce cracks or wings that have clean breaks (upper wing portion labeled with "T")
2 thick reinforcers - these will actually support wing parts that are missing plastic where they should join (upper wing portion labeled with "T")
1 thin and 1 thick reinforcer - you get one of each type for upper wing (wing portion labeled with "T").
2 thin lower wing reinforcers - these will reinforce cracks that have clean breaks for the lower wing portion (labeled with "B")
These can be used on standard X-Wings as well as Battle Damaged. I imagine they would work on POTF X-Wings as well, but have not tested them as I don't have any POTF X-Wings.
These only come in white. They really could be any color - they are not visible when installed, but this white is my go to filament for these parts. Since they are not visible, it's not necessary to color match to the ship.
These can be flipped and used from either side - though one side is smoother from the 3D printing process. Any single reinforcer can be used for either side. If you need to face the rougher side down, you can easily sand it to get a smoother surface for better glue adhesion.
One reinforcer will fix one wing, so with these kits, you will be able to repair two wings.

Installations involves the following steps:
Disassemble the X-Wing.
Clean the wings.
For clean breaks: glue the broken pieces together.
Dry fit the reinforcer so you know where to place it when the glue is applied. (see photo)
Glue and clamp the reinforcer in place.
Let cure for the amount of time recommended by the glue manufacturer you use.
Reassemble the X-Wing.
Relive your childhood with your renewed X-Wing Fighter!
These repair parts do not impact the function of opening and closing the wings - everything should work as normal. They are also very well hidden when reassembled. If you are repairing to resell - we hope that you disclose that.
About 3D Printed items: They may have minor visual defects from the printing process. This is normal and does not impact function. Plus, these repair/reinforcements are barely visible when installed.
