For the Rolex Tropic 25-30 Bubble Back crystal, the commonly published dimensions are:

  • Outside diameter (OD): 25.5 mm
  • Inside diameter (ID): 24.7 mm
  • Acrylic / plexi crystal for Bubble Back references such as 6420, 6432, 6544, 6547, 6548, 6553, 6554, 6557, 6559, 6571, etc.

A Rolex collector on the Rolex Forums measured a Bubble Back crystal and found it to be approximately 25.5 mm across the widest part, which corresponds to the Tropic 25-30 specification.

One thing to be aware of: Rolex Tropic numbers do not always correspond exactly to the crystal diameter. For example, some Rolex crystal references do encode the diameter in the last three digits (e.g., 25-295 ≈ 29.5 mm), but the vintage Bubble Back 25-30 is generally cataloged simply as the replacement crystal reference rather than a direct dimensional code.
