This is an interesting historical account of the 1796 French military campaign, in which Napoleon led battles against Austria and Italy and scored decisive victories. After this point, he became a national hero and led further military expedition, eventually becoming the most powerful military leader.
Contents include an introduction, a narrative, remarks, and an appendix.
Written by Major Conyers Surtees (1858-1933), who was a British military leader, politician, and historical author.
Institutional labels to the front paste down and endpaper, from the Elizabeth M. Cudahy Memorial Library and Loyola University.
Collated, complete.
CONDITION
Bound in a black cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with minimal edge wear to extremities and head and tail of spine. Institutional numbers written on spine. Institutional label on front paste down and front endpapers, with the occasional institutional stamp and institutional number written on page, such as to the reverse of the title page. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean throughout, with light age-toning to margins. Folding maps are bright and clean.
