This fiber optic Loop/bypass is for older ~1998-2003 D2B Mercedes components; check your connectors to verify the connector style prior to ordering. Mercedes transitioned from the “D2B” optical network to the “Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) optical network starting around 2003 with the introduction of the new model E-Class 211. To troubleshoot bad components simply unplug and bypass the component one-by-one using this bypass connector. If you are simply interested in removing your CD changer to free up physical space in your glove compartment simply unplug the wire harnesses, plug in our D2B bypass loop until it clicks-in, and you are done!
