DESCRIPTION

A charming and illustrated anthology of poems from the most celebrated poets of the nineteenth century, edited by Reverend Robert Aris Willmott, a cleric and writer who also authored the 'Lives of Sacred Poets', and 'Pictures of Christian Life'.

With the work of such poets and writes as Eramus Darwin, Ann Radcliffe, Lord Byron, Percy Shelley, James Hogg and Alfred Tennyson present.

Illustrated throughout with a number of vignette engravings, and with a frontispiece portrait of Wordworth. These illustrations are the work of various eminent artists, including John Gilbert, Edward Angelo Goodall, and Myles Birket Foster.


CONDITION

In the publisher's original decorative cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with several perforations to the cloth covering the front joint. Boards bright. Front hinge starting, with board holding firm. Internally, firmly bound. Spotting and handling marks throughout.
