DESCRIPTION

This work contains chapters on soils, the garden plan, lawns, plants, vegetables and herbs, fruit and greenhouses amongst others. 

Written by Richard Sudell, a British landscape architect and writer best known for his 'New Illustrated Gardening Encyclopaedia'.

A first edition, complete with the scarce dust wrapper, which is unclipped. 

With decorations by Bip Pares including three colour plates, diagrams through the text and photographs in black and white.


CONDITION

In the publisher's original full cloth binding with an unclipped dust wrapper. Externally generally smart; spine is a little faded, with some bumping to the extremities and the tail of the spine. Dust wrapper has tape repairs to the head, tail and rear joint; it is sunned to the spine, with chipping to the head and tail of the spine and slight loss to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
