This is a vintage stone carving of the Egyptian God Anubis. Anubis was the God of the afterlife and helped guide lost souls into the afterlife. He was a dog, or a jackal, with large pointed ears and a long snout.
This figuring shows Anubis in a seated position. There are hieroglyphics on the seat and markings on his clothing. The bottom of the figure is signed, "Cairo Egypt 1939". It is in very good pre-owned condition with some slight wear to the stone.
