A new, relaxed take on traditional rug design, this Berber rug from Gooch Luxury is not only hand-knotted but created using 100% wool for an indulgently soft and durable feel.

Meaning 'a flower from the deserts', this rug is traditionally created by the Berber people in the greater region of North Africa using local wool from herds of sheep grazing in mountainous fields of North Pakistan.

The tough weather conditions, lush green grassland and icy streams make their wool fibres warm, shiny and strong. The wools are hand sheared by the shepherds, then sold and moved to Central Pakistan where it is handspun. The yarns are handwoven and hand-spun giving the work a variable look meaning each piece is unique.

There are 25 Knots per square inch, which gives a chunky textured hand feel.

About your new rug

• Natural fibres may shed. This will reduce over time, and shouldn’t affect your rug’s lifespan or performance

• When vacuuming your rug, use suction only. Rotating brushes may damage the fibres

• Blot any spills with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub or use harsh detergents.
