Brass MORANT(?) Petrol drainer for veteran / vintage car.  Patent 1774/21

If you're reading this you almost certainly know what it is, or more than me at any rate!  My best guess is it's a fuel drain plug for a large pre-war car.
Roughly 2 in diameter and 4in long.
No significant damage. The screw threads* are in good condition. the gauze has a few holes. slightly chewed knurling to the rings where someone's resorted to water pump pliers to remove it.
It looks like a very useable part (you will know if it's complete or not: - I guess there would be a cork seal or something.  Anyway, it should definitely be out there working for a living on a vehicle and not sitting here!

*(about 14TPI but I can measure properly with a gauge if you like)

Any questions?  please ask and I'll do my best to help.
